Joy!
15.6.2009 When we began working on the concept of a football beer for Ostravar, we held certain expectations. The Ostrava area is a region that loves its football and its beer. Ostravar Brewery is known for its special beers, so we expressed interesting in adding something new to its profile. Its exceptionality was enhanced through engaging football fans in the creative process. Thanks to the concept that Outbreak created exclusively for Ostravar, they were able to nurture their new-born beer from its actual taste to the appearance of its label and beer mats. For one month, tasting and selection of the final flavor occurred in pubs, in stores, at the Mining Days and on the street that never sleeps, Stodolní ulice. Always after one month in selected pubs and on the Internet, Ostravans voted for the future name, glass style, and design of the logo and label. In the end it was those from the ranks of Banik football who chose St. Basil as their patron.

The numbers that have been recorded in relation to Bazal so far have exceeded even our most optimistic estimates. Not just that Ostravar sold more beer this April than in the same month last year, but the sales of Bazal themselves are currently achieving over twice the original plan. “We can happily say that people like the taste of Ostravar Bazal and they’re pretty excited about it," says Michal Útlý, Ostravar brand manager. And we in Outbreak are stoked to see that our months-long mass co-creation is scoring points.
